December Basketballin

So I just watched overrated Duke lose to Pittsburgh in overtime and boy I couldn't be happier. The game was played on a neutral court at Madison Square Garden and Pitt came out with a much deserved victory.

Pitt struggled in the first half and was trailing at halftime by 12 points. Then I switch it over to none other than Lebron vs. Kobe. I heard my fans are excited that I talk so much about the best player in the league, so I can't not talk about the best two players in the league.

But I'll get to that in a second. Pitt comes out in the second half and looked like the team that should have showed up at the beginning of the game. Pitt makes a steady come back as Duke struggles to get their offense going as they were having a hard time even getting a shot off late in a close game.

Pitt took the lead with about four minutes left in the game and Duke evidently decided to play again and the game is tied headed into overtime. And Pitt wins in overtime on a 3 pointer by Fields to win the game.

Some observations. I agree that Duke is better than last year, but I feel they are overrated at this point in the season. Duke never plays an actual road game in their non conference schedule. It's always in some tournament or some "neutral" court game. They never actually travel to a campus and play a decent team. Start playing good teams on the road or play those crappy teams you have scheduled for your home games at their campus.

That is a reason Duke hasn't got past the Sweet 16 in the past 3 or 4 season because they haven't played tough away games. I'm not bashing Duke just because I don't like them, I am just stating the obvious. The only reason Duke is ranked in the top 10 at this point in the season is because of that name on their jersey. I don't think they are a top 10 team in a nation at this point in the season. They absolutely have no inside presence and have obviously taken over the Phoenix Suns offence of float around the perimeter and look for an opening. Oh and another point, Duke's defence consists of flop city if someone bumps into you. And what makes it worse are the Refs actually call it a charge. It's so horrible, because more than half the time it is obvious that the player flops over like a girl. It's so dumb and annoying.

A good Duke team that has made it to the Final Four had some type of inside presence that would give them balance for late in the season and into the NCAA tournament time.

But enough on Duke, time to get to the most anticipated Lebron-Kobe talk.

I'm going to say that the Cavs don't look like a good team most of the time. I'm also going to say Lebron is a beast. Get rid of Larry bum Hughes, he is straight garbage and looks like he doesn't know what to do most of the time. Anderson Varejeo is a hustle beat and should be a starter instead of Gooden and they just need some changes.

The Lakers on the other hand are a good balanced team thanks to the coaching job of Phil Jackson. He is a good coach and always has, and I think he is doing a good job with what he has other than Kobe. I still don't think Kobe has been dominate this season as he as been in previous years. Not sure if it's because of team play of what.

Another thing that bothers me is all of these dumb intentional fouls on steals to prevent fast break dunks. I mean even when you have a lead, there's no need to prevent the highlight dunk. Don't be a bunch of girls, either protect the ball or pay the price.

Did I mention Hughes is awful, he missed a wide open lay up and air balled two shots so far.

I know you're not supposed to give players wide open shots, but when you get beat off a crossover don't reach out and foul, it's so frustrating. I mean let the King dunk on you.

Well the Lakers are up by five after three quarters and of course Lebron is leading Kobe in the offensive categories. It should be an interesting finish to the game... well the Cavs bench has taken over the beginning of the quarter and now up by four 82-78 and a Laker player tried to foul a Cav player on a fast break dunk, dumb.

Anyways, in other important news, I'm battling for the All Offence Showdown championship this weekend in my Fantasy Football league. Pretty excited about that. And Christmas is almost four days away, that is even more exciting.

Boy do I love Christmas time!

Lebron and Kobe, or should I say schcool boy bitch and sir rapes a lot. Sure these guys are good but one needs a 7 feet tall 300 lbs center to win and the other... well....he's far from royalty.

How about the Celtics...now they are making news. How bout you talk about something interesting besides a washed up rapist and an immature pre madaonna.

Hows that for some "Sports Smak"
