End of 2007

The year of 2007 has vastly come to an end and 2008 is just around the corner. The sporting world of 2007 was very interesting and had many memorial stories.

The 2007 NFL regular season came to a close last night and the playoff match ups are set. The top seeds are the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts in the AFC and the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers in the NFC.

For course the heart felt story of the league is the Washington Redskins making the playoffs after their tough lose during the season winning their final four games. The Skins will face the Seattle Seahawks next weekend in the Wild Card round.

As for a recap the of year in sports, the Florida Gators beat the Ohio State Buckeyes to win the College football BCS Championship in January. Peyton Manning gets over the hump and win his first Super Bowl and is named Super Bowl MVP after beating the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl 41. In April, the Florida Gators Men's Basketball teams becomes the first school to win back to back National Championships since Duke in 91-92. In June, the San Antonio Spurs won their fourth NBA Title in nine seasons by sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers, who made it to their first NBA Championship led by non other than Lebron James. Tony Parker was named Finals MVP.

In August the Men's National Basketball team won the FIBA America's Tournament to qualify for the 2008 Olympics in China. The team played well the whole tournament looking like the dominate team there have been in the past.

Once again Tiger Woods had a great year on the Links and also became a father in July. Tiger won the PGA Player of the Year award once again for the ninth time in his eleven year career.

Have a Happy and Safe New Year Holiday!
