This is going no where

See now I'm getting double teamed, what's up with that?

T, I'll get to your comments in a second.

J, when I said Big Three for Cleveland I was referring to their front court having better stats than Boston's "Big 3" for that game. I know Cleveland doesn't have a big three.

You are just baffling me with these Kobe comments. How do you figure Kobe is doing what Jordan used to do? You said something about Jordan not being an assist man, but he was, and Jordan made his players play better and you say much like Kobe is doing now? I don't understand that. I really don't see that happening. I know why you might be thinking that, and the reason is the coach. They are coached by the same guy and run the same offensive plays. And another reason is because Kobe doesn't really want to be there anymore so he isn't scoring 50 points a game.

I think T is right, we were making the same points, you just like to get me confused. That's why I like it when you leave comments because I can just ramble on about silly stuff.

As for you T, you comment had a good point that I could understand, until that last sentence.

For the both of you, the reason why Jordan made his players play better was because he never wanted to lose, he played every game like it was game 7 of the NBA Finals. Plain and simple. And we don't have a player like that in these days. Jordan did not like to lose and never wanted to lose. T made a good point about Jordan being a ball hog in his early career, but that changed like she said. When Jordan retired the first time after he had won 3 straight championships, he felt that there wasn't any competition for him anymore, so he moved on to his baseball love.

But he realized he was born to be the best player in basketball history. And when he came back he led his team to the best record in NBA history at 72-10. How did he lead his team, by speaking up and making them work much like he did previously, but he wanted to see how many he could win again.

And even when he played for the Wizards, he wasn't playing for himself, he was out there trying to help his team earn that winning mentality. Which didn't happen right away, but eventually they saw the light.

And I guess no one sees what I see in Lebron. I'm not even going to get into it. Lebron is a leader and will only get better and learn he has to encourage his teammates to jump on the wagon to that championship.

Those Kobe comments just confuse me. Maybe if you made these comments last season when he should have won the MVP I would have agreed, but the Kobe this season hasn't showed me anything.

As for the Pistons hurting Lebron, that just puts them in the dark hole for another 48 point night shellacking like in last seasons playoffs.

Tar Heels with the big win in Columbus over the Ohio State Buckeyes last night without Ty 'speeder' Lawson. Got a date in Lexington against the Kentucky 'Tubby Smith less' Wildcats.

Just a reminder Packers 34 - Cowboys 33.

Peace easy.

The Big Three?

So what happened last night Boston? What happened to the Big Three. They should have easily beat the bum Cavaliers.

Well Cleveland's Big Three, James, Gooden and Big Z, had the better game than the Boston big three stats wise. The big three on Cleveland each posted strong double doubles and helped hand the Celtics just their second lose of the season.

And what happened to sharp shooter Ray Allen late in the forth quarter? He missed two free throws in the closing seconds that could have given the Celtics the lead. But it didn't happen and the King took over the show in overtime. He does what he does.

Now John, you are starting to confuse me with your comments. And I think you are trying to do it on purpose. So you think a Kobe stat line of 37, 8, 6 against the Seattle Sonics is better than 38, 13 (assists), 4 against one of the best teams in the league, then you're just being silly. I know you are smarter than that. Lebron's 13 assists to Kobe's 6 assists, doesn't match up.

And correct me if I misunderstood you, but in one comment I got the opinion you thought Lebron is playing better so far and in the next you said Kobe is helping his team more? And I think we have two different definitions of what making your team better is. I was taught making your team better is by keeping them involved in the game and working together. You can physically and skillfully make your teammates better. You can on the other hand be a leader and encourage your teammates and keep them involved in the offense and defense and they will build that confidence when they knock down their shots.

That is what I think of when I hear making your teammates better; keeping them involved in games and going to them when the other team triple teams you. I guess we are on two different generations when it comes to that.

I mean Kobe's stat line last night was good. But Lebron has been averaging 37 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists in the last seven games. And I don't think Kobe has ever done that in his career. Kobe can score 81 points a game, but when it comes down to it. I'm taking that stat sheet stuffer. I'm taking an Oscar Robinson, a Magic Johnson, a Michael Jordan.

Kobe is a great player, but he does have the better team overall, better skill players, better coach, even though you don't like Jackson. Kobe hasn't got his team past the second round of the playoffs since Shaq left. Lebron at the age of 22 carried his team to the Finals for the first time in team history in only his second appearance in the playoffs.

So I don't know what I'm disputing anymore, but I hope you get my point.

Does anyone know what I'm trying to say? I think I made a good statement about that topic.

The top two teams in the NFC square off tomorrow in Dallas when the Green Bay Favres take on the Cowboys. 10-1 vs. 10-1. The Packers haven't won in Dallas in their last eight games there, that means Favre hasn't won in his career playing in Dallas. Personally I kind of want to see that change.

I have always been a Favre fan. He is just fun to watch. He makes up his own rules playing the QB position and that's what makes him unique and fun. Of course I didn't like him when he used to always beat my Niners in the playoffs a few years back, but that's another story.

I believe the Cowboys are favored to win. But I've seen a few kinks in their armor and I think Green Bay and exploit that with their passing game. I still think it will be an offensive game so I'm going to take Green Bay 34 - Dallas 33. I think that sounds good, Packers by 1. Sounds like an exciting game to me.

R.I.P. Sean Taylor

Wow. What a shocking turn of events. Monday morning I wake up and hear Sean Taylor had been shot and is in critical condition. Then later in the day I hear he squeezed a nurses hand. Then I wake up Tuesday morning and safety Sean Taylor has passed away. How devastating.

Sean Taylor is by far my favorite Redskin player. He was only in his fourth season in the league and having the best season thus far in his young career. He was definitely on his way to being one of the best safeties in NFL history. He already had a reputation of being a hard hitter. But this season, he became more versatile and began to round out is skills. He is tied for the NFC lead with five interceptions.

I mean the Redskins were even looking set for the future having drafted LSU hard hitting safety LaRon Landry this year to join Taylor. To think a young safety in his third season makes the Pro Bowl and then is having the best season of his career, someone pulls an awful act like that and Taylor couldn't hang on to survive.

Rest In Peace Sean Taylor, we all know you are at peace now.

Got a comment from my man John. Always appreciate it when he leaves comments and I encourage others to leave comments as well.

So you think that earning triple doubles doesn't include getting his team involved. How do you get your team involved? By passing right? Well he must be passing the ball when he earns more than ten assists. How many career Triple Doubles does Kobe Bryant have? Kobe has 14 career. Lebron has 14 in the regular season and two in the post season. Lebron is just in his young fifth season while Kobe is around eleven I believe.

Here's how I like to look at it. At the moment, Kobe is a scorer. He is just trying to do to much offensively to help his team win. Of course so far this season we haven't seen any consecutive games with 50 plus points, but I'm sure that will happen at some point this season.

As for Lebron. His team is in rough shape overall at the moment. They have injuries to important players and also a restricted free agent who remains unsigned and in a recent report wants to be traded. So Lebron is doing the right thing at the moment. He is playing quarterback. He is managing their games by keeping them close until the fourth quarter and then turning in it like he did against the Pistons in the playoffs last season. What do I mean by managing? He is getting his teammates involved by drawing attention and passing to open players. That is what a superstar does.

Kobe is just in a difficult situation right now. He hasn't played like he has the past few seasons because he still wants to be traded but it won't happen anytime soon. So he isn't in Kobe pour on 81 points mode. So when Kobe starts averaging 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists a game, then I might change my argument.

As for those people that still believe last seasons playoffs were a flook and the Cavs had an easy road is bogus to me. They beat the Detroit Pistons. They were the favorite last season, Lebron and Daniel Gibson beat them in the last two games of the season. The only reason it was a flook they made it was because they got swept by the Spurs in the Finals, if they had won just one game it wouldn't have been that big of a deal.

I'll say it, the Spurs are a superior team. It was the first time the Cavs had been in the NBA Finals. The only player they had that had ever played in the Finals was Eric Snow. So I feel it also comes down to experience. The Spurs know how to win championships, that is their goal and that's what they do.

So as for Lebron staying in Cleveland, he will stay there. Will he speak up and talk to Danny Ferry about getting him support is the question. Seeing as Ferry hasn't brought back their best bench player, right now it doesn't look positive. But I think Lebron will speak up when it is contract extension time. Once he got a taste of the Finals glory, he is determined to win it all. Lebron James is a winner, plain and simple. He will get in done in the future. As for Kobe, his time and options are running out.

Mr. Stat Sheet Stuffer

How would you like to have a player that can go out and fill every stat line kept during a game. Tell me this guy isn't the MVP of the league so far this season. The guy has four official triple doubles and has come close in several other games. He posted a triple dip in back to back games on back to back nights.

Who other would I be talking about, other than Mr. Lebron James.

This guy is carrying his team on his back. He is leading the league in scoring averaging 30 a game. He also has the most triple doubles so far this season and is by far off to the best start of his young career.

James now has a total of 16 career triple doubles and is in just his fifth season in the league and isn't even 23 years old yet.

James is by far off to the best start of his career and clearly making an early statement to earn his first MVP award. I think it is clear that he is the early front runner and the only other person that would be close would be Kevin Garnett.

Lebron 'Mr. Triple Double' James.

My 49ers got a huge win over the Arizona Cardinals today winning in overtime on a sack, forced fumble in the end zone. The win ends their tough eight game losing skid. Now with five games remaining, I still think they came win at least two more games the rest of the season. It's been a tough season for the 49ers, having struggled with many key injuries to important players. Let's hope they can finish up the season strong and look forward to next season.

Tar Heels off to a 5-0 start, face Ohio State on Tuesday in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Psycho T is looking tough and leading the Heels towards that goal of a National Championship.

Just Checking in

It's been about a week since I last wrote so I just wanted to say hey.

I've been busy as of late, so it's been kind of hard to sit down and write a nice post.

This past weekend the Patriots continued their quest for the perfect season and sure made a statement coming off a bye week. They straight destroyed the Bills 56-10 and my man Randy Moss caught 4, count it, 4 touchdown passes.

That's out of this world right? Well a few hours earlier Mr. Terrell Owens also caught 4 touchdown passes as the Cowboys held off a late surge by the Redskins.

If you let one single player catch 4 touchdown passes on your defense in one game, then something is obviously wrong with your defense. But then again Owens and Moss are the two best receivers in the league, so it may be excused.

The Celtics finally lost their first game of the season after winning the first eight. They lost to one of the hottest teams in the league at the moment, the Orlando Magic. Believe it or not, they are the first team to win ten games, not having a record at 10-2.

And of course like I have mentioned over and over, Mr. Lebron James is putting up out of the world numbers, posting triple dips all over the place or coming close to one. If it wasn't for him, the Cavaliers would probably be win less, but they are at a solid record of 5-5 so far.

Well I think that's it for now. Turkey Day is two days away and boy am I excited.

Have a good one.

What's going on

What a disappointment last night. After Peyton throws five interceptions for the first time in his career, the Colts still had a shot to win the game.

It all came down to their kicker, Mike Vanderjact right? No, it's the great "Mr. Clutch" Adam Vinatieri. Oh man they got this game in the bag. Nothing more than a 30 yard field goal, piece of cake right.

Wrong. Adam just misses it on the outside edge. Heck he even missed a 40 yarder at the end of the first half too. What happened to those Patriot days where he couldn't miss anything to save his life. He could try to miss back then and would still make it. There could be six inches of snow on the ground, from 50 yards, it would be right down the middle.

He even missed a field goal last weekend against his former team the Patriots. Boy was I disappointed. To even think the Colts had a shot at winning the game after Peyton throws 5 INTS is unheard of. Vinatieri better put his armor back on because someone or something has messed his invisibility up.

Oh technically Manning finished the game with six INTS, but he threw number six after Vinatieri missed the field goal, but that's besides the point.

And for my man John, what a heart breaker for the Dolphins. Had a chance to win their first game of the season against the Bills, but couldn't pull it off. I mean at this point in the season and being win less teams usually might tank the rest of the season to earn the number one draft pick, but I don't know any super college players that could make an immediate impact for them next season. (I still think they should have drafted Brady Quinn, but oh well a kick returner is what they needed, not). They obviously need a quarterback, probably should have kept Culpepper in my opinion, but the loss of Trent Green hurt them too. And Ronnie Brown, he's been a bust too. Might as well start working with Ricky to get him to stop doing drugs so he can make it back into the league.

I mean I can't talk to much on my end either. My niners have lost six straight games and have their first Monday night game in I can't even remember against the Seahawks. But we are starting to get healthy again and if we can get this new offense down, I'm looking forward to a good ending to the season. And heck if we win tonight we will only we a game behind Seattle and Arizona for first in the division. So I'm staying positive.

My Tar Heels get their season underway this week against the seasons early dark horse in Davidson having already upset the Kentucky Wildcats in Rupp Arena. UNC has a pretty good non conference schedule too. Good meaning, challenging unlike a lot of teams, cough cough Duke, which gives UNC an advantage to play in those tough games to help prepare for the NCAA tournament.

GO NINERS!

EDIT
I made an mistake in my post the other day. When I said Davidson beat Kentucky, I was wrong. It wasn't Davidson, it was Gardner-Webb. My bad. Just wanted to show that I noticed it and knew the correct information for that.
Anyways, UNC held on to beat Davidson tonight. So it's all good.

Title?

Just wanted to remind y'all who the man was.
And I had to make some color changes to the site to get ready for my Tar Heels who will run the table this year.
I just want to leave this stat line for you basketball fans out there...
32,15,13.
That was Lebron's stats from lasts night tough lose to Utah. It was his 11th career Triple Double. He also added a few blocks and steals as well. The guy is a freak, simple as that.
Now to respond to a few comments my man John left for me.
I'm glad you agree about the Rockets, because they are a solid team when healthy. As for the Nuggets, they are off to a strong start as well, they just ran into a better team last night. I never said I didn't like the Celtics, I just said I wasn't going to jump on them winning the Championship bandwagon right away, like everyone else in the world. They are a good team, I just want to see what they can do as the season goes on.
I agree with you about Lebron. His contract will be running out in the next year or two I believe and he has to make that decision if he feels the organization is doing the best they can to win that championship. He does need help, specifically a shooter. Many people might not know, but Daniel Gibson has improved his shot and is a nice compliment, but they need to get rid of Larry "Injured" Hughes. He is a big joke and has done nothing but sit on the bench injured while being with the Cavs.
Now for the news between Don Shula and the Patriots. Personally I don't believe in the asterisk. Yeah they got caught cheating by video taping other teams defensive signals. But how much of an advantage were they actually gaining. What about the Dolphins last season? They beat the Patriots twice and both times a story came up about them stealing the Patriots audible signals on offence so they could get in there and sack Brady. What happened to that situation. Nothing.
Same goes for Barry Bonds. Yeah the guy has been accused of using steroids. Yeah the guy has gain like 50 pounds since his rookie season. Yeah the guy got better after he turned 30 around the time he "allegedly" used steroids. But the story still hasn't been proven guilty, but Marc Ecko goes out and buys the 756 home run ball and does a national poll to put an asterisk on the ball.
Just because everyone believes and "knows" he used steroids has nothing to do with him having an asterisk next to his name in the history books. A record is a record until the league takes it away from the individual or team. Don't punish a team for the coaches mistake. The coach and the organization already got fined and punished for their actions. The Patriots are just a superior team.
But honestly, I think the Steelers will knock them off when they face each other. I'm not saying they won't win the championship, but they will get knocked off at some point during the season. It just seems to always happen. It happened to the 14-0 Colts a few years ago. It will be the media that gets to their heads and throws them off their game for that one game.
I don't know why my writing is all bunched together. Every time I put a picture in my post, it seems to mess up the writing lay out. Sorry that it is all bunched together.
I think that's it for now. Later.

Early Season Thoughts

We are now a week into the new NBA season and I just wanted to share some thoughts.

First off the Houston Rockets. The combination of Yao and TMac is always deadly when both are healthy. That has been their problem the past few years, but they are off to a hot start and I kind of wanted to make a courageous pick of choosing the Rockets to come out of the West. TMac is off to a great start and definitely has MVP opportunities if he remains healthy the whole season. I have always been a McGrady fan, he can just pour in the points when he needs to.

As for the Washington "Gizards" (Wizards), they are pretty much worthless without a healthy Arenas. I had the pleasure of attending their home opener on Saturday night, and it was obvious Arenas is not healthy from his knee injury. He is off to a sluggish start shooting the ball and has said his knee is causing him problems. Butler and Jamison are good players, but the Wizards just don't play well enough defense when they are struggling offensively. Arenas take a few games off and get that knee healthy so you can actually back up your mouth that has got you in trouble so far this season after getting waxed by the Celtics by 20 points.

My Cavaliers will be okay. James has settled down after a rough preseason and I'm telling you he will have his best year of his career and have a good chance at winning his first MVP award at the end of the season.

As many people know the Patriots prevailed over the Colts 24-20 this past weekend in a very well fought game. It was obvious that these two teams are the best in the league on both sides of the ball.

As for Tom Brady and Randy Moss, I never doubted Moss when he came to New England. Many critics thought Moss would have an average season, but that this point of the season he is the best receiver in the league, looking like his form back in the Minnesota days minus the mouth. Moss has nearly a thousand yards receiving through nine games along with 12 touchdown catches. I knew Moss would have an excellent season just because of how the Patriots run their offense. Both Moss and Brady are in the mid-season discussion to be MVP, both would be a very good choice.

And I am excited because I have Moss on my Fantasy team and the guy is helping me win big time so far.

I think that is all I got for now, thanks for all the support out there, just trying to grow and improve for the future.

P.S. Greg Maddox won his 17th Gold Glove award this season. The guy is 40 some and still the best fielding pitcher in the league and will be back next season to win his 18th!
