How's that for some "Sports Smak"

First off I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas Eve! I hope everyone is enjoying time with family and friends.

Second I want to let everyone know how much I appreciate the support and reading this sports blog that I write. I enjoy all the comments left.

Thirdly, before a comment is left, make sure you know what you are saying and try to make a valid somewhat smart point. Otherwise, think twice about it and ask yourself if you are on my level.

Now on to more important issues. You know I used to talk that "smak" about teams I didn't like, but now that I have grown up and preparing for my future, I like to be honest and real with my sports smak.

So when I say that the Los Angles Lakers are playing good team basketball as of late, that is the truth and a valid point. And as some of you might know, Kobe eclipsed the 20,000 point plateau last night and became the youngest to do so breaking Wilt Chamberlains previous record by a week.

I'm not a fan of Kobe and never have been. I am just trying to throw out the latest news around the league. Not only is Kobe playing well, his teammates have stepped up their play as a whole especially their second team coming off the bench and playing solidly.

As for the Celtics, there's nothing going on that shouldn't be expected. They have three all star players, including the MVP of the league, and are doing what they should be doing. They were brought together to win, their goal is to win, they are superstar players, they are trying to accomplish their goal of a NBA Championship. 22-3 is an impressive record, but I'll be more interested when they approach the 70 win plateau.

Well the long NFL season has come down to the final week and the story of the season is the undefeated Patriots. Their record now stands at 15-0 and face the New York Giants this week to go for the perfect record. They have broken record after record. Will they continue their dominance into January in route to their fourth championship in seven seasons? Stay turned and we will find out.

On the other side, the Dallas Cowboys have officially wrapped up home field advantage in the playoffs in the NFC. This week they face their rival Redskins and the Redskins need to win the game in order to be the last wild card in the NFC.

As for NFL season awards, the obvious three choices for MVP are Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Brett Favre. All three of these players have had outstanding seasons and led their teams to great records and have put up record breaking stats.

Offensive Rookie of the year will be Adrian Peterson, RB of the Vikings and Defensive Rookie of the Year is none other than the beast of the future Patrick Willis, LB of the 49ers.

Mr. Sports Smak wants to give a shout out to Sports Zach, Sports Wes, and Sports Luke. They will understand why I put Sports in front of their names, it's an inside joke.

Once again Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
