Super Bowl Sunday: 42

Well it is officially that day of the year, one of the most anticipated days to sit down and enjoy of football game between the two best teams in the league facing off to play for the NFL championship.

From the NFC, we have the G-Men, New York Giants and from the AFC, we have the undefeated, New England Patriots.

These two teams faced off in week 17 of the regular season and it was a well fought game by the Giants, but the Patriots pulled out the victory 38-35.

Now I'm no betting guy, so I'm going to make two predictions, one being a pick of what I want to happen and the other being what I would pick if I was betting.

So I am a NFC type of guy or at least I'm not a Patriots fan. So I will be rooting for the Giants, who have been playing tough football for the past two months of the long season.

Now I know the Patriots are a good team at making adjustments, especially after a bye week, and since its been two weeks since their last game, I know the Patriots are going to come out firing. But I think the Giants will be able to hang in there and answer back.

Unlike Burress, who picked the Giants to win 23-17, I'm going to say this Super Bowl will be a shootout just like it was in week 17. So here's my pick...

I like the Giants to win: Giants 34 - Patriots 31.

Now if I was putting some money on this game, which I am not, then I would have to go with the "safe" choice and go along with more than half of the nation and choose the Patriots. And I would bet the Patriots would win by at least two touchdowns.

So I would bet: Patriots 31 - Giants 17.

So there are two views of how I think the Super Bowl will go. But when it comes down to it, I am rooting for the Giants to end the Patriots perfect season and end their run of three super bowl wins in the past seven seasons.

Eli will join his brother a year later after Peyton won his first Super Bowl, as it will be back to back Manning wins. I also think it's going to come down to Eli's arm and his ability to manage a come from behind victory and Eli will be named Super Bowl XLII MVP.

So there you have it. Giants over Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
