I'll give you three guys who should/will win the MVP award this season; Phoenix Suns floor general Steve Nash, Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Lebron James, and new Boston Celtic Kevin Garnett.
Each of those players are the most important players on their teams and should be in the running for MVP is season. I think Lebron will win just because he doesn't have two key players from last years team due to hold outs, and the high expectations after making the NBA Finals next season. He will have to prove to all the critics who think the Cavs stink that he is a leader year round and the MVP of the league.
As for Rookie of the Year, it will either be Seattle Sonics Forward Kevin Durant or Los Angeles Clippers Forward Al Thorton. Plain and simple, these two guys have great athletic ability and will no doubt be future stars of the NBA.
My All-NBA team is:
C Yao Ming
F Tim Duncan
F Lebron James
G Kobe Bryant
G Steve Nash
Now for the NCAA picks. You know I am excited because my Tar Heels are the preseason number 1 and are back to revenge their disappointing lose to the Hoyas in the Elite 8 last season. UNC is the obvious favorite to win the ACC for the second straight season.
Here are my top eight teams that have a good chance at making it to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament come March.
- North Carolina Tar Heels
- UCLA Bruins
- Memphis Tigers
- Louisville Cardinals
- Kansas Jayhawks
- Georgetown Hoyas
- USC Trojans
- Indiana Hoosiers
I'll leave you with that.
